 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Spring 2008 offering of the Technology &amp;amp; Society Seminar Series addresses the theme of technology and politics. We will explore topics such as the use of technology in political campaigns and advocacy, public policies regarding the regulation or use of technology, and technology as the product of politics.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>The Technology and Society Gateway Seminar</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The T&amp;amp;S Gateway Seminar meets every Tuesday beginning September 30, 2008 in Harold Frank Hall 1152 (formerly Engineering I)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Fall 2008 offering of the Technology &amp;amp; Society Seminar Series (re)addresses the theme of social computing and its impacts on technology and society.  Even in the short two years since the first time this topic was explored, social computing technology and its use in everyday society have greatly expanded.  In this version of the Gateway Seminar, we will look at three broad categories of topics:&lt;/p&gt;
