Kevin Almeroth is currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California in Santa Barbara where his main research interests include computer networks and protocols, wireless networking, multicast communication, large-scale multimedia systems, and mobile applications.

Professor Bazerman's commitment to literacy and the teaching of writing started thirty years ago when he was teaching first and third grade in inner-city Brooklyn.

Bruce Bimber is Professor in the departments of Political Science and Communication at UC Santa Barbara, and Director Emeritus of the Center for Information Technology and Society.

Dorothy Chun is Professor and Graduate Advisor in the Department of Germanic, Slavic and Semitic Studies at UC Santa Barbara.

Jennifer Earl is the Director Emeritus of the Center for Information Technology and Society (2006-2009) and an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

James Frew is an Associate Professor in the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and a principal investigator in UCSB's Institute for Computational Earth System Science (ICESS).

Lisa Jevbratt is an artist and an associate professor in the Art Department and the Media Art Technology program at University of California, Santa Barbara.

Debra Lieberman is a lecturer in the Department of Communication and a researcher in the Institute for Social, Behavioral, and Economic Research (ISBER) at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Karen Lunsford is an Assistant Professor of Writing at UC Santa Barbara. She teaches among other courses Literacy in the Information Age. Karen’s publications include articles in Written Communication, Computers and the Humanities, and the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy.

Patrick McCray is interested in the confluence of science and technology with politics and popular culture. Examples include: Science (physics, astronomy, and materials science mostly) and technology during the Cold War, especially nuclear and space related topics.

John Mohr is a Professor of Sociology at UC Santa Barbara. Professor Mohr research interests include organizational theory; sociology of culture; historical analysis; the welfare state; and qualitative/quantitative methods.

Lisa Parks, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Film and Media Studies at UC Santa Barbara, where she is also an affiliate of the Departments of Art and Women’s Studies and serves on the Executive Committee on the College of Creative Studies.

Stephen Pope teaches in the Department of Music at UC Santa Barbara, and the Graduate Program in Media Arts and Technology (MAT) and is also affiliated with the Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) at UC Santa Barbara.

Dr. Rice is the Arthur N. Rupe Chair in the Social Effects of Mass Communication in the Department of Communication, and Co-Director of the Carsey-Wolf Center for Film, Television, and New Media, at University of California, Santa Barbara.

Professor Smith's research focuses on public opinion, elections, and environmental politics. In the area of environmental politics, he has been examining public opinion toward offshore oil development and nuclear power. He recently finished a book about public opinion on energy and environmental issues, Energy, the Environment, and Public Opinion.

Michael Stohl is Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication at UC Santa Barbara. Dr. Stohl's research focuses on organizational and political communication with special reference to terrorism, human rights and global relations.

Matthew Turk is a professor in the Computer Science Department and the chair of the Media Arts and Technology Program, an interdisciplinary program positioned at the convergence of arts, media, and technology.

William Warner is a Professor and Chair in the English Department at UC Santa Barbara. His central interests include Eighteenth century British and American literature and cultural studies, the novel, literary and cultural theory, media studies, and law and literature (free speech and censorship).

Ben Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at UC Santa Barbara. His research spans the areas of large scale networks and distributed systems, security and privacy, and mobile and wireless networks.
